Our campaign is taking our message to the voters and I am pleased with the response we’ve been getting. The residents of Kailua, Lanikai and Waimanalo are deeply concerned about our public school system and our current economic situation and understand that we need real solutions.
I want to fight for more charter schools, for schools within schools, and for local school districts. As a State representative, I fought for the first charter school law in Hawaii. Now, I am ready to continue that fight… to put the power to educate our students where it belongs: with our principals, teachers, and parents.
I also drew a line in the sand against taxes, leading the charge to stop the largest tax increase in our history. Today more than ever, we need to leave more money in the pockets of Hawaii’s residents, to make Hawaii more affordable, and create more jobs. I want to go back to the legislature to continue to fight against tax increases.
